'cortez the killer'

Boys lay wasted,

girls lay wasted.

A bed, bedside lamp,

a boy smoking.

A girl in the corner,

eyes as dark as night.

Cortez the killer

Cortez the killer…

Happiness is too insignificant,

fear and loathing.

She floats through the room,

drops by his side.

He picks up the final bits of insanity,

she meets his gaze.

Cortez the killer,

I love you man…

He stares back, smoking

the darkness of her eyes.

All the grass couldn’t bring this moment.

A soft murder,

she plants a kiss

after an eternity, for an eternity.

Cortez the killer,

the dealer sold a lotta sweet dreams…

Goddamn her, he is gone,

not a word, she follows.

They come to the edge of the cliff,

“I’ve got to go now”;

she smiles at last,

‘I’m coming’; she whispers.

Cortez the killer,

watch him play…

He abandons the last drag,

looks ahead, soars,

arms spread, meeting the wind.

Shuts his eyes, opens

turns to find her by his side.

They meet the deep sea rock together.

Cortez the killer,

He is your man…
